Job summary

Harmattan AI is seeking a Software Engineer, Mission Execution, to build the software backbone that carries mission plans from the planner to the field. You will own the infrastructure that executes missions on autonomous robots and multi-agent systems, collaborating with Mission Planning, simulation engineers and product teams to ensure reliable, testable, and live-operational systems.

You will contribute to designing scalable backend services for mission guidance and execution, while upholding

Qualifications

Education: MS/PhD in CS/Robotics or related field or equivalent experience.
Proficient in C++ and Python with strong system design, concurrency, testing and debugging skills.
Experience shipping production software, preferably with distributed or real-time systems.
Nice to have: robotics, embedded software, simulation, aerospace/defense familiarity.

Responsibilities

Design and build mission execution infrastructure for reliable real-time behavior across fleets of autonomous systems.
Develop scalable backend services and APIs for mission guidance, orchestration, and execution.
Maintain high quality with CI/CD, testing, code reviews, observability, and release discipline.
Write production-grade C++ and Python for real-time, resource-constrained environments.
Collaborate with Mission Planning and product teams to ensure clean integration and field deployability.
Analyze logs and telemetry to identify failure modes and drive systemic fixes.
