Hydro Extrusions in Toulouse is seeking a Welding Engineer to develop, qualify and execute welding activities for structural components in railway applications (MIG, TIG, FSW). You will ensure compliance with EN 15085 and ISO 3834 while supporting automotive sector tech selection and equipment planning.

The role requires a Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or materials science, hands-on welding experience, and the ability to lead cross-functional projects.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Hands-on welding experience MIG, TIG, FSW.
• Knowledge of railway welding standards and quality requirements.

Responsabilités

• Support feasibility assessments for welding during RFQs and project phases.
• Develop and maintain Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and qualifications.
• Define and optimize welding parameters in collaboration with production teams.
• Ensure compliance with EN 15085 and ISO 3834 and customer requirements.
• Provide on-site technical support and troubleshoot welding issues.
• Lead root cause analyses for defects and support continuous improvement.
• Define inspection and testing plans and support audits and certifications.
• Guide production sites on welding technologies, industrialization, and best practices.
