Pasqal is seeking a PhD-level quantum physicist to join the Hardware Department's Processing team in Massy. The role focuses on characterizing, optimizing, and validating processing operations for Pasqal’s neutral-atom QPUs, while supporting circuit-level execution and QEC benchmarking.

You will work with a multidisciplinary group across theory and experiment. You will design experiments, analyze data with Python, and contribute to hardware feature validation, documentation, and external

Qualifications

• PhD in AMO/quantum physics or related experimental field.
• Strong understanding of neutral-atom platforms and their impact on operation fidelity.
• Experience implementing and debugging experimental sequences for quantum control.
• Strong data analysis and scientific programming in Python.
• Experience benchmarking protocols (e.g., randomized benchmarking).

Responsabilités

• Experimental characterization & optimization: implement, characterize, and optimize processing operations.
• Benchmarking experiments: design and run benchmarking experiments to quantify performance and limitations.
• Modeling & simulation: develop numerical models to interpret results and guide optimization.
• Error identification & mitigation: identify dominant error sources and drive mitigations.
• Circuit-level execution: support gate scheduling and QEC protocol benchmarking.
• Hardware feature validation: define test plans and quantify impact on processing performance.
• Documentation and communication: write reports and scientific articles.
• Intellectual property: contribute to patentable ideas.
• External representation: represent the company at conferences and industry events.
