Job Description Summary
The Quality Manager - Nuclear Operations Training Instructor will provide expertise in analyzing technical learning needs for a business or function then design and deliver training solutions. We are looking for someone with in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; and working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
Essential Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design and development of the Initial Certification/License Training Programs for the BWRX-300 technology, using the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) and following industry best practices.
- Contribute to the quality oversight and maintenance of the Operations Training KSA Analysis/Catalogue(s), Job & Task Analysis, Task to Training Matrices, Curriculum and Evaluation Strategies, Training Program Delivery Schedules, Training Material and Evaluation Instruments.
- Contribute to the design and development of the Continuing Training Programs for both licensed and non-licensed operators.
- Contribute to the instructional quality oversight of the curriculum/materials for both licensed and non-licensed training programs for BWRX-300 and other similar technologies.
- Represent GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GVH) training in internal, customer and regulatory venues.
- Work with other operations training instructors and personnel to support the management and delivery of the training programs and provide strong leadership for assigned programs.
- Lead/support training program reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of training and establish priorities and drive plans for continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the develop/support corrective actions to address identified areas for improvement.
- Work with other training and business units to support the Fleet Services enterprises.
- Perform special assignments and other related activities as assigned by the Training Manager/Leader.
- Certify as a BWRX-300 Senior Reactor Operator.
Required Qualifications
- Certified as a Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) Instructor at a BWR.
- Bachelor's degree with at least 10 years' training experience in the nuclear industry, familiar with nuclear industry standards and training practices.
- High School Diploma/GED with at least 12 years' experience in the nuclear industry, familiar with nuclear industry standards and training practices.
Eligibility Requirements
- The work location is the Wilmington, NC Headquarters but highly qualified remote candidates will be considered.
- This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information; final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization from the U.S. Government.
- Willingness to travel to other GVH sites and client sites both domestic and international as necessary to support training initiatives (30% travel).

- Knowledgeable of Nuclear Operations and related Training including Normal/Off-normal/Abnormal/Beyond Design Basis Plant Conditions.

- Demonstrated personal integrity with ability to handle proprietary, confidential, export controlled, and complex technical information.

- Team player with strong interpersonal, planning, project leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, setting priorities and managing multiple tasks simultaneously with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel and Adobe Acrobat.
- Knowledge of Nuclear Power Plant technologies, including BWR and PWR.
- Previous qualification as a field operator at a BWR.
- Previously qualified as US Navy Engineering Laboratory Technician (ELT).
- Training Program development and implementation experience under both INPO and NRC Regulatory Frameworks.
- Experience with Initial and Requalification Certification Examination development, conduct, and grading.
- Experience delivering all phases of Operator Training; GFES, Station Systems, and Simulator.
- Experience with Computer Based Training (CBT) implementation and multimedia content.
- Experience using an LMS, training database or Vision software.
Benefits
The base pay range for this position is $112,000 to $160,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors such as experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, including performance bonus, variable incentive compensation, and equity. The role is expected to close on Friday, November 7th.
