Description du poste

iO Associates are currently partnered with an innovative space technology company at the forefront of advanced propulsion solutions for the small satellite industry. Due to continued growth and increasing customer demand, they are seeking a Propulsion AIT Engineer to join their team and play a critical role in the assembly, integration, testing, and customer deployment of next-generation propulsion systems.

This position offers the opportunity to work directly on cutting-edge spacecraft hardware, supporting both internal development programmes and customer satellite missions from integration through to launch preparation.

The Role

As a Propulsion AIT Engineer, you will act as a key interface between engineering, production, and customers, ensuring propulsion systems are successfully integrated, validated, and qualified for flight. You will support customers throughout the integration process, provide technical guidance during environmental testing campaigns, and contribute valuable feedback to drive future product improvements.

This role combines hands-on engineering, technical problem-solving, and customer-facing responsibilities within a fast-paced space environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support customers with the integration of propulsion systems onto spacecraft platforms.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact throughout integration and testing activities.
  • Assist customers during environmental qualification campaigns, including vibration, shock, and thermal vacuum testing.
  • Perform system-level investigations and root cause analysis to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Design, plan, and execute propulsion and environmental test campaigns on components and integrated systems.
  • Analyse test results, interpret data, and prepare technical reports.
  • Develop and maintain detailed test procedures, documentation, and validation records.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering and production teams to implement continuous improvements.
  • Gather customer feedback and translate operational lessons learned into product development recommendations.
  • Provide hands-on support during assembly, commissioning, and operation of propulsion systems and associated test equipment.
  • Travel periodically to customer locations, predominantly across Europe, with potential occasional international travel.
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics, or a related discipline.
  • Experience within satellite AIT (Assembly, Integration & Test), ideally involving subsystem integration activities.
  • Strong hands-on engineering capability and experience working with complex electro-mechanical systems.
  • Experience with laboratory equipment, troubleshooting, and hardware debugging.
  • Familiarity with spacecraft environmental testing, including: Thermal Vacuum (TVAC), Vibration Testing & Shock Testing
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in a customer-facing environment.
  • Knowledge of propulsion systems or spacecraft subsystems.
  • Experience managing mechanical and electronic integration constraints.
  • Understanding of spacecraft interfaces and qualification processes.
  • Previous experience supporting customer programmes or mission delivery activities.
What's on Offer
  • Opportunity to work on pioneering space propulsion technology.
  • Direct involvement in cutting-edge satellite missions.
  • Exposure to the full spacecraft integration and qualification lifecycle.
  • Collaborative and highly technical engineering environment.
  • Flexible salary package depending on experience.
  • Immediate hiring requirement.

If you’re an experienced AIT Engineer with a background in satellite integration and testing and are looking to contribute to the next generation of space missions, we’d love to hear from you.
