Your Day-To-Day Work

The Project Manager at CIC Institute will focus on expanding CIC Platform influence and business operations in Japan. You will coordinate with internal and external stakeholders across the CIC network to expand projects to private sectors, create new innovation clusters, extend market access services to new industries and the East Asian market, and develop scalable products and services across the CIC network.

Potential responsibilities include:

  • Project Planning & Management: Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful delivery.
  • Project Planning & Management: Define project scope, goals, and deliverables with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Project Planning & Management: Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
  • Client Acquisition & Relationship Management: Draft plans for new projects and propose them to potential clients.
  • Client Acquisition & Relationship Management: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication of objectives.
  • Client Acquisition & Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in technology companies and government agencies.
  • Client Acquisition & Relationship Management: Facilitate regular meetings with clients to review status and adjust plans as necessary.
  • Team Leadership & Collaboration: Lead project teams, including internal consultants and external partners.
  • Foster a collaborative environment that encourages creativity and knowledge sharing.
  • Provide mentorship to junior team members and help them develop their skills.
  • Collaborate with CIC leaders to deliver consulting and innovation services and pilot new products with the Institute’s implementation team.
  • Quality Assurance & Reporting: Ensure all deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations.
  • Quality Assurance & Reporting: Prepare and present regular project status reports to clients and senior management.
  • Quality Assurance & Reporting: Conduct post-project evaluations for lessons learned and improvements.
About You

You are a professional who represents CIC to prospective partnerships and supports current clients at the highest levels of service. You have strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and time management skills. You are detail-oriented, organized, adaptable to fast-paced environments, and motivated to innovate in marketing and community building. You enjoy researching industry updates, cutting-edge technologies, and the startup ecosystem.

Ideal candidates possess the following characteristics:

  • A self-starter with a strong work ethic, able to multitask while staying detail-focused.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to present persuasively to potential customers.
  • Professional partnership and stakeholder management, community development, and event leadership experience in the innovation ecosystem.
  • Experience as a Project Manager in consulting firms with skills in drafting business plans and proposals.
  • Ability to lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently for extended periods.
  • Strong understanding of innovation processes, technology trends, and government regulations.
  • 5+ years of project management experience, preferably in a consulting environment or related industry.
