Project Manager - Hauts-de-France - 12-Month Contract
Our client, a global (bio)pharmaceutical manufacturing organisation, is recruiting for a Project Manager to join them on their new expansion project. Based in a charming French location, this is a contractual role focused on significantly increasing the site's capacity for biologics manufacturing.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accountable for meeting key project deliverables related to safety, financial management, schedule, and scope across these projects.
- Ensure projects comply with good engineering practices, company policies, regulations, and codes.
- Liaise with Global Engineering, Global EHS, and Global Procurement to align and support project deliverables.
- Develop concepts and business cases in collaboration with the project sponsor and end users, understanding and clarifying requirements, developing scope, and preparing estimates for approval.
- Lead and support project teams through complex projects.
- Support and mentor junior and intermediate project managers within the Projects Group.
- Manage project budgets, obtain approvals, and ensure adherence to scope. Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to stay within budget. Use SAP and budgeting tools effectively.
- Prioritize projects and manage spending to meet financial targets.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills Required:
- A degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Automation, or Process Engineering with relevant pharmaceutical industry experience.
- 5-8 years of project management experience across the project lifecycle within a pharmaceutical environment.
- Proven ability to manage and execute projects from initiation to completion, including design, C&Q, and handover. Familiarity with project management processes such as scheduling, scope development, and closeout.
- Experience managing diverse engineering teams and contractors to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.
- Strong background in planning and managing engineering projects with a record of timely delivery.
- Experience managing financial performance of engineering projects, including cash flow, lifecycle costs, and risk management at both project and portfolio levels.
