Velan, a world-renowned Quebec-based manufacturer, seeks a Production Welding Specialist to support operations in Laval. You will guide production teams to assure weld quality, compliance, and continuous improvement of welding processes.

The role requires expertise across welding methods, experience in industrial manufacturing, and ability to interpret WPS/PQR and drawings, with bilingual French/English fluency and collaboration across North America.

Qualifications

• DEP in Welding and Fitting (or equivalent)
• 5+ years of experience in industrial/manufacturing welding
• Proficiency in GTAW, SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW or PAW
• Knowledge of welding codes and standards (ASME, ASTM, military specs) is a bonus
• Ability to read WPS/PQR and technical drawings; bilingual in French and English

Our client, Velan, is a leading manufacturer of industrial valves serving highly specialized industries. The company is seeking a Production Welding Specialist to support its operations in Montreal.

Your Role

As the welding subject matter expert, you will provide technical guidance to production teams to ensure quality, compliance, and continuous improvement of welding processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Optimize welding processes and practices;
• Troubleshoot technical issues and identify root causes of welding defects;
• Ensure compliance with welding standards and procedures;
• Support production teams in achieving quality and productivity objectives;
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams.

Profile Sought

• DEP in Welding and Fitting (or equivalent relevant training);
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial or manufacturing welding;
• Proficiency in multiple welding processes (GTAW, SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW, or PAW);
• Knowledge of welding codes and standards such as ASME, ASTM, and military specifications is considered an asset;
• Ability to interpret WPS/PQR documentation and technical drawings;
• Bilingualism in French and English.
