Job summary

Photoroom is seeking a Product ML Engineer to join one of our product experience teams — SMB, Scaler or Enterprise — and own the ML side of short, high-impact projects. You’ll work on focused ML problems with a clear product outcome, framing the problem, selecting the approach, and shipping features with rapid iteration.

You’ll bring the depth of an applied scientist while operating with the pace of a product engineer, shipping from idea to production and measuring impact through user value.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on experience shipping ML-powered products.
• Experience in PyTorch or equivalent frameworks such as TensorFlow or JAX.
• You are a pragmatic builder focusing on customer value, open to external models when fastest.
• You are product-minded, measure success by shipped features and business outcomes.
• You write production code and work in real product repos.
• You own ambiguous ML problems from framing to production.
• You iterate quickly with short feedback loops and learn from users.
• You are curious and collaborative, sharing knowledge and humility.
• You’re fluent in English; French is not required.

Responsibilities

• Embed directly within a product team and tackle focused ML problems with clear outcomes.
• Own ML projects end to end from framing to shipping and monitoring in production.
• Decide build vs. buy, fine-tune or integrate external models as appropriate.
• Move from idea to production quickly with rapid iterations and customer impact.
• Collaborate with the ML team and leverage shared infrastructure while staying embedded in product priorities.
• Gather rapid user feedback and drive subsequent iterations.
• Maintain balance between technical depth and pragmatism to ship value.
• Write production code inside the product codebase.
• Ensure quality in production with solid evaluations and monitoring.
