Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Product & Engineering Lead based in France.

Are you a technically driven leader passionate about building innovative digital products and scaling high-performing subscription businesses? This role offers the opportunity to take end-to-end ownership of both product development and engineering strategy within a fast-growing international environment. You will lead the launch of new subscription products while shaping the technology, architecture, and development processes that support a growing product portfolio. Working directly with senior leadership, you will combine hands‑on technical expertise with strategic decision‑making to accelerate product launches, improve operational efficiency, and drive business performance. You will also oversee external development partners, establish scalable engineering standards, and leverage AI‑powered tools to build and validate solutions faster. This is an exciting opportunity to influence both technology and business outcomes while delivering products to millions of users worldwide.

Accountabilities
  • Take end-to-end ownership of new subscription products and conversion funnels, overseeing the full lifecycle from development and launch to testing, scaling, and localisation.
  • Conduct comprehensive audits of existing technical infrastructure, development processes, teams, tools, and external vendor relationships, identifying improvement opportunities and implementing approved changes.
  • Lead and optimise development processes, including project planning, delivery management, code quality, release management, and technical standards.
  • Manage external development and DevOps partners by defining priorities, evaluating technical proposals and estimates, and ensuring delivery meets agreed quality, budget, and timeline expectations.
  • Design, develop, and continuously improve scalable and reusable platform architecture to support new product lines, subscription services, and localised customer journeys.
  • Lead technical decisions relating to architecture, integrations, infrastructure, databases, hosting, and development tools, balancing speed, scalability, reliability, and cost‑effectiveness.
  • Oversee the reliability and performance of the technology stack, including infrastructure monitoring, alerting systems, incident management, and production stability.
  • Manage recurring billing systems and payment service provider (PSP) integrations, optimising payment success rates, payment routing, and subscription management flows.
  • Own the technical infrastructure supporting conversion funnels, including analytics, event tracking, advertising pixels, A/B testing capabilities, and data integrations.
  • Develop prototypes and minimum viable products (MVPs) using AI‑assisted development and rapid prototyping tools to validate new ideas before committing to full‑scale development.
  • Collaborate closely with growth and analytics teams to optimise acquisition performance, tracking systems, customer cohorts, and conversion funnels across platforms such as Meta, Google, and TikTok.
  • Work alongside security specialists to strengthen access controls, infrastructure protection, and overall technical security.
  • Analyse key business metrics, including conversion rates, customer retention, churn, and lifetime value (LTV), to guide decisions on scaling, optimising, or discontinuing products.
  • Establish repeatable technical frameworks, operational processes, and launch playbooks to improve efficiency and accelerate future product development.
Requirements
  • At least 4 years of experience in technical leadership or technical product roles, such as CTO, Head of Engineering, Engineering Manager, Development Manager, or Technical Product Manager with a strong engineering or quality assurance background.
  • Strong practical understanding of web technologies and development environments, including frontend and backend systems, APIs, integrations, databases, deployment processes, and infrastructure.
  • Ability to critically assess technical proposals, identify potential issues, and make informed architectural and engineering decisions.
  • Previous experience managing or closely supervising external development teams, technology vendors, or outsourced engineering partners.
  • Proven experience launching digital products from the ground up, ideally within B2C, subscription‑based businesses, mobile applications, gaming, e‑commerce, or other performance‑driven environments.
  • Hands‑on experience with recurring payment systems, payment service provider integrations, production monitoring, and incident management.
  • Experience designing scalable platforms and shared technical architectures that support multiple products, markets, or languages.
  • Good understanding of subscription business models, conversion optimisation, customer retention, churn, and unit economics, or a strong willingness to develop expertise in these areas.
  • Familiarity with analytics, payment, and experimentation tools such as Stripe, Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Mixpanel, Amplitude, A/B testing platforms, and SQL.
  • Strong daily proficiency in AI‑powered development and analytical tools, including Claude Code, AI prototyping platforms, and LLM‑based workflows.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously and collaborate directly with executive leadership.
  • Strong problem‑solving, communication, and decision‑making abilities, combined with a proactive, hands‑on, and results‑oriented mindset.
  • Professional fluency in written and spoken English.

Additional advantages include experience working with paid acquisition teams and advertising tracking technologies, such as pixels, server‑side events, and attribution systems; launching and localising products across multiple international markets; and auditing or restructuring existing technical infrastructures and external vendor relationships.

Benefits
  • Competitive compensation package based on experience and qualifications.
  • Performance‑based bonus system offering additional earning potential.
  • Fully remote working arrangement with the flexibility to work from anywhere in the eligible European locations.
  • Full‑time position with significant autonomy and ownership over product and engineering decisions.
  • Direct collaboration with senior leadership, providing close access to strategic and business decision‑making.
  • Opportunity to build and shape the technology platform supporting an expanding portfolio of subscription products.
  • Exposure to large‑scale digital products reaching millions of users worldwide.
  • Fast‑paced environment where ideas move quickly from concept to launch, with measurable impact on business performance.
  • AI‑first working culture, encouraging the use of advanced AI tools to improve development, analysis, and operational efficiency.
  • Opportunity to influence the company’s technical direction, establish engineering best practices, and drive long‑term product innovation.
