Pennylane is seeking a Product Designer with strong B2B product design experience to elevate and maintain an excellent user experience for our accountants and businesses. You will collaborate with engineering, product management and stakeholders to deliver thoughtful design solutions that solve real user problems.

The role offers a Paris office or any WeWork location in Europe, with remote contract options and a monthly budget for home workspace.

Qualifications

  • Experience designing for B2B products and complex systems.
  • Ability to translate research findings into actionable design decisions.
  • Proven ability to mentor junior designers and share knowledge.
  • Strong communication with engineers, PMs and stakeholders.
  • Fluency in French and English for user interviews and collaboration.

Role Overview

We are searching for a Product Designer with strong B2B product design experience to elevate and maintain an excellent user experience for our accountants and businesses. This role involves collaborating closely with engineering, product management and stakeholders to deliver thoughtful design solutions that solve real user problems.

Responsibilities and Qualifications
  • Understand problems and empathise with users through research and data analysis, and turn findings into actionable insights.
  • Work closely with developers, product managers and other stakeholders to align on technical constraints, project goals and iterate on design solutions.
  • Communicate effectively and share knowledge with the team and others in a meaningful way.
  • Apply excellent visual design skills to complex systems, including multiple modules, advanced features and intricate data structures.
  • Document design decisions and collaborate with engineers and product managers to drive projects, challenge limitations, adjust schedules and advocate for solutions.
  • Generate new opportunities and ideas to improve processes, products and culture.
  • Co‑coach and mentor junior team members.
  • Be fluent in both French and English; conduct user interviews in French.
Career Path
  • Within one month: onboarding, product and industry training, deep knowledge of the product and design organization, and introduction to team members.
  • Within three months: lead discovery and user research sessions, ensure consistent delivery of product scope, collaborate on prototypes and design system alignment, and contribute to team efforts.
  • Within six months: mentor junior designers, participate in recruitment, stay current with UX/UI best practices, and benchmark the global tech ecosystem.
  • Beyond six months: opportunities to recruit, mentor and manage new designers; increased responsibilities in project leadership; implement new processes, tools and best practices.

Recruitment Process
  1. A first look at your portfolio.
  2. Screening with a technical recruiter (30 minutes).
  3. Interview with two members of the design team (45 minutes to 1 hour).
  4. Assessment at home and review with two other design team members (1 hour).
  5. Final round with the Head of Design and CPO (1 hour).
