Job summary

Valero Internship Program in Linden, IN seeks an Engineering intern to provide support to the Engineering Manager at the ethanol plant. The role includes assisting with design, modification and operation of process equipment, and developing project documents from conception through completion.

Interns will work 20–25 hours weekly during spring/fall and 40 hours weekly in summer, with a minimum one-year commitment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Biosystems Engineering.
• 60 credit hours required by start of intern program.
• Graduation date on or after December 2027.
• Ability to work 20-25 hours per week during Spring/Fall, 40 hours in Summer.
• Overall GPA of 3.0 (4.0 scale) preferred.
• Candidate must live within commuting distance to Linden, IN.
• Valero pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support to Engineering Manager for design, modification, and operation of process equipment in the ethanol plant.
• Assists with preparation of justification, cost estimates, and project documents for approvals.
• Develops technical specifications to procure equipment and services.
• Supports maintenance and operations as a technical resource.
• Ensures OSHA Process Safety Management documentation compliance including MOCs, P&IDs, isometrics, and equipment specs.
