Pump and Power Technician 3

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Pump and Power Technician 3 to troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical and electrical equipment problems, perform advanced/complex repairs on all types of equipment, scope customers' needs and provide solutions. May lead and train other team members in the absence of a Shop Foreman or Service Manager.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical equipment problems.
• Perform advanced/complex repairs on pump & power equipment.
• Scope customers' needs and provide solutions.
• Lead and train other team members in repairing equipment when a Shop Foreman or Service Manager is absent.

Education and Experience

• 5-7 years of experience repairing and maintaining Pump & Power equipment.
• EPA Section 608 Universal Certification required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Advanced understanding of refrigeration (EPA Certified), electrical engines and controllers, dehumidification equipment from CDI and Munters, compressed air treatment (dryers/filters/aftercooler).
• Advanced knowledge of generators, power distribution, A/C, heater and shoring; understanding of diesel equipment, generators and air compressors.
• Mastery of load bank repairs.
• Experience with and comprehension of VFDs, VSDs, soft starts, and “across the line” motor starting.
• Factory diesel, generator, compressor, HVAC training.
• Ability to read and understand electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic flow schematics with ability to produce hand‑drafted schematic modifications.

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this role require bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 25 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors as required.
