Aerospacelab in Toulouse leads advanced space programs and earth observation services. We are seeking an experienced electrical power systems engineer to design power subsystems for spacecraft missions, from converters to integration and testing.

You will collaborate with hardware, software, and mechanical teams, review designs, and develop test plans. Depending on experience, you may drive full projects and mentor a multidisciplinary group.

Qualifications

• Must have MSc or PhD in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in power supplies design, including converters and regulation.
• Proficiency using Spice simulators for switching converters analysis.
• Knowledge of common converter topologies, both isolated and non-isolated.
• Experience with magnetics design and implementation.
• Experience leading in-house and subcontractor design teams.
• Experience with diagnosis, testing methodologies at component and system level.
• Ability to collaborate across teams to drive designs to completion.
• Good English knowledge.

Role overview

• Supportor lead electrical power systems design for spacecraft missions
• Supportall aspects of the development chain: converter design and analysis,integration, test, operations, and maintenance
• Supportdesign reviews to ensure requirements and interface compliance
• Workclosely with external providers of electronics and magnetics to reviewdesigns, identify and resolve issues and develop integration and testapproaches
• Supportsubsystem development with a multidisciplinary team of flight software/FPGA developers and mechanical/thermal engineers (to ensure design iscompatible with space application environment)
• Developtest plans that ensure adequate testing of power supplies
• Dependingon experience, drive full projects and lead a team of multidisciplinaryengineers

Must have

• MScor PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or relatedfield
• 3+years of experience of power supplies design, including power circuit,regulation circuit and filters design and related implementation (PCBrouting and tests)
• Proficiencyin using Spice simulators for switching converters analysis (ideallyconsidering parasitic elements contribution when relevant) : switchingtransients, stability analsyis, etc...
• Agood knowledge of the most common converter topologies, both non-isolatedand isolated
• Experiencewith magnetics design and implementation
• Experienceleading existing in-house and subcontractor component/subassembly design
• Experiencewith diagnosis, debug and component, assembly and system level testingmethodologies
• Demonstratedability to work across the team and company to drive designs to completion
• Good English knowledge

Nice to have

• Apassion for technology and rapid execution of sophisticated space missions
• Practicalknowledge of advanced/resonant converter topologies and associatedregulation schemes (both analog and digital)
• Experiencewith EMC/EMI design and testing
• Proficiencywith common industry electronic design software
