Université Grenoble Alpes invites applications for a Researcher Profile Established Researcher (R3) in the Institute of Environmental Geosciences (IGE). You will join the CryoDyn team to advance the understanding of ice dynamics through seismology and modelling, contributing to studies of glaciers and climate processes.

Supervised by Florent Gimbert, you will deploy equipment, analyze multi-source data, and collaborate with international partners to interpret ice-flow dynamics.

Qualifications

• Skills in seismology and fluid mechanics.
• Fieldwork skills, particularly for equipment deployment campaigns.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work in a team and in international collaborations.
• Interest in glaciology and climate change issues.
• Experience or confidence working in mountainous environments would be an asset.
• PhD in geophysics, mechanics, or mechanical physics is desirable.

Responsabilités

• Deploy seismological equipment in the field, in collaboration with partners.
• Analyse and combine seismological data with other observations from field studies.
• Interpret observations and model the physical processes involved in glacier dynamics.
• Extrapolate results to Greenland ice systems and relate to climate change.
• Contextualize findings within OSUG and CNRS/INSU objectives.
