The role includes applying for funding opportunities and engaging with international teams from NASA JPL Caltech and other institutions. The ideal candidate should have a PhD in a related field and strong computational skills. Applications should be sent to Vincent Le Fouest.
As part of the French program “Make our Planet Great Again” (MOGPA), we are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to apply for a postdoctoral funding opportunity on Arctic physical-biogeochemical modeling. Experience in using MITgcm-Darwin would be welcome.
The project will focus on land–ocean connectivity at high spatial resolution on the Mackenzie shelf (Beaufort Sea, Western Arctic).
The postdoctoral fellow will be hosted at La Rochelle Université (France) and will benefit from interactions with researchers from NASA JPL Caltech and from the French CNRS/ULaval Takuvik team (Canada). The fellow will also benefit from the European H2020 Nunataryuk Arctic project (nunataryuk.org).
Applicants should have a PhD in ocean-biogeochemical modeling or a related field. The candidate is expected to have strong computational skills, a good publication record, a high level of independence, curiosity and creativity, and a strong interest in working in an international research team.
This is a 1-year full-time position. The project is expected to begin in January 2021.
The application must include a cover letter, a short statement of your research interests (1 page max), a complete CV and the contact information of three references to send recommendation letters to support the application. Applications must be sent to Vincent Le Fouest (vincent.le_fouest@univ-lr.fr).
