INRAE, the French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food, and the Environment, invites applications for a postdoctoral position in the QuaPA unit. You will develop and optimize analytical workflows to monitor trace metal elements carried by microplastics within complex biological matrices, and you will compare imaging and mass spectrometry approaches to improve detection limits.

Travel to partner laboratories in France is expected.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in a relevant field.
• 1–4 years of post-PhD research experience.
• Proficient in analytical chemistry techniques, especially MS.
• Knowledge of imaging, microscopy and histology.
• Ability to analyse, synthesize and write scientific reports.

Responsabilités

• Develop an analytical workflow for monitoring trace metal elements carried by microplastics in a complex biological matrix.
• Optimise a robust extraction method for microplastics in a complex biological matrix.
• Compare imaging and mass spectrometry methods for trace metals adsorbed on microplastics.
• Collaborate with MASS and IT teams; travel to French partner laboratories as needed.
