Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) in Switzerland is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow in Time-resolved and Room-temperature Crystallography. You will implement time-resolved experiments, apply methods to dynamic enzymology, and establish serial crystallography workflows for dynamic studies.

The role involves data collection, analysis, publication, and collaboration with external users. The position is limited to 2 years with a potential 1-year extension; start date by agreement.

Formación

• PhD in a relevant field as stated.
• Hands-on experience in macromolecular crystallography from data collection to structure refinement.
• Experience in serial and/or time-resolved crystallography at synchrotrons or XFELs.
• Interest in method and instrumentation development and teamwork at a large-scale facility.
• Very good written and spoken English.
• Desirable: protein production, (micro)crystallisation, reaction initiation, or enzyme kinetics.
• Desirable: Python programming and serial data-processing software.

Responsabilidades

• Implement and run time-resolved experiments using picoliter injector and pump-probe schemes.
• Apply methods to dynamic structural enzymology to capture intermediates and conformational changes.
• Establish SSX workflows on cryo-compatible fixed-target chips for dynamic studies.
• Characterize X-ray-induced heating and radiation damage at room temperature; derive data-collection protocols.
• Publish results in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences; support external users.
