Job summary

CNRS - National Center for Scientific Research in Toulouse invites a postdoctoral researcher to improve snowpack representation within SURFEX. You will develop new parameterizations, run sensitivity experiments on Greenland, Svalbard, and the Antarctic Peninsula, and collaborate with SnowPI partners to evaluate projections and publish results.

The position is based on the Météo-France campus, with English/French as working languages and a one-year term (possible extension).

Qualifications

• PhD in meteorology, hydro-meteorology, or related field, by start of employment.
• Strong programming skills for large data processing; Python and FORTRAN preferred.
• Good proficiency in Linux command shell; English for reports and meetings.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively; willingness to interact with multiple labs.

Responsibilities

• Develop new snow/land-surface parameterizations within SURFEX.
• Perform offline sensitivity experiments over Greenland, Svalbard, and Antarctic Peninsula.
• Publish results in scientific journals and present at conferences.
• Collaborate with SnowPI partners and contribute to EU project reports.
