Job summary

1000scholars seeks a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join a 24‑month project on paediatric leukaemias, bone marrow microenvironment, and developmental origins of childhood leukaemias. The candidate will work in a stimulating scientific environment, collaborating with the South Rock consortium to advance basic and translational research in paediatric haematology.

Qualifications

• PhD in biology, haematology, oncology, immunology or a related discipline.
• Solid experience in cellular and molecular biology.
• Strong scientific track record, with publications.
• Expertise in stem cell biology, haematology, genomics, transcriptomics, bioinformatics or imaging would be an advantage.
• Good command of scientific English, both written and spoken.
• Scientific curiosity, independence, rigour and willingness to work collaboratively.
• Previous postdoctoral experience would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Unravelling the cellular and molecular mechanisms of leukaemogenesis in children.
• Understanding the role of the bone marrow microenvironment in initiation, progression and response to treatment.
• Exploring the foetal and developmental origins of certain childhood leukaemias to identify early events of transformation.
• Utilising cell and molecular biology approaches on patient samples, advanced cellular models and cutting‑edge technologies.
• Collaborating with researchers from the South Rock research consortium of excellence.
