BRGM invites applications for a two-year post-doctoral contract focused on multi-physical modelling of mineral flotation processes. You will join the Geophysics and Surface Remote Sensing unit within the Subsurface Knowledge and Geomodelling Department and work on DLVO-type interactions, reactive transport, and bubble-particle dynamics to improve mineral recovery.

Applicants should have a PhD and 1–3 years of postdoctoral experience, with strong Python skills and experience in coupled transport

Qualifications

• PhD required and 1–3 years of postdoc experience preferred.
• Strong programming and scientific writing skills needed.
• Experience with modelling coupled transport processes is an asset.

Responsabilités

• Develop a multi-scale model of mineral flotation with DLVO-type interactions.
• Perform reactive transport calculations using geochemistry software (PHREEQC).
• Predict flotation behaviour from chemical/mineralogical composition of the pulp.
• Calculate adhesion/detachment rates under varying hydrodynamic regimes.
• Contribute to understanding flotation mechanisms to improve recovery rates and sustainability.
• Participate in analysis, valorisation and dissemination of results.
