Job summary

The University of Bordeaux, in the Institute of Molecular Sciences (ISM), invites applications for a Researcher or postdoctoral fellow in organic chemistry. This project, within the Post-Petroleum Materials program, focuses on molecular design, synthesis and analysis of COFs and host–guest systems in a multidisciplinary setting.

You will design rigid macrocycles, test host–guest interactions, and form 2D COFs, reporting progress in written studies.

Qualifications

• PhD in Organic Chemistry with 2+ years in synthesis and characterization.
• Proven expertise in multi-step organic synthesis.
• Proficient in NMR, IR, MS, UV-Vis for structural analysis.

Responsibilities

• Reproduce synthesis of rigid conjugated macrocycles.
• Design and synthesize molecular axes incorporating selected guests.
• Prepare monomers based on organic aromatic rotaxanes.
• Carry out host–guest association tests.
• Form 2D materials (COFs) by polymerization.
• Analyze products and write progress reports.
• Contribute to scientific dissemination of results.
