Météo-France in Toulouse invites a PhD-qualified researcher to join the VEGEO team for a post-doctoral fellowship. The work centers on LDAS over Europe, training neural networks for LFMC, and validating drought indices using state-of-the-art land-surface modelling and remote sensing.

You will contribute to forecasting and climate applications while collaborating with international teams. A 12-month fixed-term contract with some remote work available is offered.

Qualifications

• Hold a Ph.D. in a relevant field.
• Familiar with at least two topics: deep learning, data assimilation, land surface modelling and remote sensing.
• Experience in Python for data analysis and Linux environments.
• French language fluency is not required.

Responsabilités

• Operate LDAS over Europe using ARPEGE forcing.
• Train a neural network to simulate LFMC across Europe.
• Evaluate LFMC and other drought indices with in situ data.
• Publish results in open literature and collaborate with VEGEO team.
