Job summary

CY Cergy Paris Université's ISTeP lab seeks a postdoctoral researcher to investigate the interface between crystalline basement and sedimentary cover in the Upper Rhine Graben, focusing on petrography and structural geology.

The role involves literature reviews, field campaigns, lab analyses across two labs, and communication in meetings and conferences, with at least one peer-reviewed publication expected.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in Geosciences or a related field.
• Excellent English language skills.
• Experience in petrography, structural geology, and geochemistry.

Responsibilities

• Produce a literature review on the geology of the Upper Rhine Graben (URG) including geological resources (geothermal, minerals and mining, oil, etc).
• Participate in field work campaigns to collect observations, measurements and rock samples.
• Perform lab analyses on thin sections and hand specimens in ISTeP and Georessources labs to gain new insights on the URG.
• Publish at least one peer-reviewed paper in an international journal to be defined by results.
