Universite de Montpellier recrute un postdoctorant pour développer des méthodes d’inférence causale pour des données de survie avec fraction de guérison. Vous publierez et contribuerez à un package R en parallèle de collaborations cliniques à Montpellier.

Le candidat mènera des recherches méthodologiques, écrira des articles et travaillera au sein du IDESP pour des applications relatives aux maladies chroniques. Salaire mensuel brut indiqué.

Qualifications

• PhD en Statistiques, avec spécialisation en causalité ou en analyse de survie.
• Anglais courant (B2 ou plus) requis; le français est un plus.
• Compétences inter personnelles et communicationnelles fort.
• Expérience en revue de littérature et en programmation statistique.

Responsibilities

• Conduire une revue de littérature et des recherches méthodologiques.
• Développer des méthodes d’inférence causale pour les données de survie avec fraction de guérison.
• Implémenter des méthodes dans le logiciel R et développer un package.
• Collaborer avec l’Institut Desbrest d'Épidémiologie et Santé Publique et l’Hôpital Universitaire de Montpellier.

Work environment :The Desbrest Institute of Epidemiology and Public Health (Institut Desbrest d'Epidémiologie et de Santé Publique - IDESP) is a joint French research unit between the University of Montpellier and Inserm aiming to understand the development of chronic diseases that affect more than 30% of the French population and represent 80% of healthcare expenditures. It consists of 83 members, among which 29 are qualified to supervise research. It hosts researchers from Inserm, Inria, the University of Montpellier, Montpellier and Nîmes University hospitals, Montpellier Cancer Institute and the university department of general practice of Montpellier. One of its research areas is statistical and mathematical modelling of patient trajectories.

Main mission :

As postdoctoral researcher, you will develop causal inference methods for survival data with a cure fraction, focusing on two causal estimands:

• The treatment effect on cure probability; and
• The treatment effect on survival.

The main objective will be to develop estimation methods based on propensity scores for observational data.

The project will also involve the development of an R package and collaborations with the Montpellier University Hospital.

Activities : Literature review, methodological research, statistical programming in R, data analysis, and scientific paper writing.

The gross monthly salary is €2,760
