CNRS at Institut Néel in Grenoble is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to investigate quantum transport in graphene-based devices, focusing on anyons in bilayer graphene and the fractional quantum Hall regime. The project spans device fabrication, low-temperature measurements and data interpretation.
You will mentor PhD students or postdocs and contribute to publications and conferences, while collaborating with the QuNES team and QUEST department.

The selected candidate will join the QuNES team at Institut Néel to carry out quantum transport experiments aimed at probing the physics of anyons in graphene-based devices. The project focuses on the fractional quantum Hall effect in bilayer graphene, with the goal of realizing quantum dots capable of manipulating and detecting these anyonic excitations.
The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to the full experimental chain: fabrication of high-quality van der Waals heterostructures, device design and nanofabrication, low-temperature and high-magnetic-field electronic transport measurements, as well as data analysis and interpretation. They will also help supervise PhD students and contribute to the scientific dissemination of results (publications, conferences).
Institut NÉEL is a CNRS unit (UPR 2940) under agreement with the University Grenoble Alpes. The laboratory is related to the CNRS Physique. It is located in Grenoble, in the heart of a unique scientific, industrial and cultural environment. It is one of the largest French national research institutes for fundamental research in condensed matter physics enriched by interdisciplinary activities at the interfaces with chemistry, engineering and biology. It consists of 450 employees, including 175 researchers.
CNRS is a public, scientific and technological organization.
The core mandate is to identify, to carry out or to have carried out, either alone or with partners, all research that advances science or contributes to the country's economic, social, and cultural progress. Internationally recognized for the excellence of its scientific research, the CNRS is a reference in the world of research and development, as well as for the general public.
The hosting team at Institut Néel is QuNES - Quantum Nano-Electronics and Spectroscopy, which forms part of the QUEST department.
