UST is a multinational cloud technology company seeking a Platform Engineer to join a global cloud platform team. You will design, build, operate, and continuously improve cloud platform capabilities used across digital products, subscription services, and AI-driven initiatives.

The role emphasizes modern cloud engineering, platform engineering, DevSecOps, automation, and scalable microservices, with a focus on secure coding, observability, and collaborative agile practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or a similar field.
• 5+ years as Software/Platform Engineer, SysOps, API Engineer, or similar in software development and cloud operations.
• Strong experience with microservices, AWS/public cloud, REST API design, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.

What we look for?

We are looking for an experienced Platform Engineer to join a global cloud platform team supporting digital ecosystem. This role is ideal for someone passionate about modern cloud engineering, platform engineering, DevSecOps, backend development, automation, and scalable microservices. You will help design, build, operate, and continuously improve business-critical cloud platform capabilities used across global digital products, subscription services, and AI-driven innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and operate scalable cloud-native platform components.
• Build backend services, APIs, automation frameworks, and Infrastructure-as-Code modules.
• Work with modern technologies such as AWS, Kubernetes, Java, Spring Boot, Terraform, GitLab, EKS, REST APIs, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Contribute to the technical direction of platform services by challenging existing practices and driving continuous improvement.
• Develop and maintain enterprise-scale microservices supporting identity management, subscription APIs, and AWS infrastructure automation.
• Optimize system performance, scalability, availability, security, and reliability.
• Apply strong engineering practices including secure coding, automated testing, observability, documentation, and code reviews.
• Support controlled deployments, rollback planning, validation, and advanced 3rd level support.
• Identify and reduce technical debt, operational risks, and areas for process improvement.
• Collaborate closely with product owners, DevSecOps engineers, architects, and platform engineering teams.
• Promote agile values, shared ownership, DevSecOps maturity, and modern software development lifecycle practices.
• Mentor other developers and contribute to technical alignment across teams.

Mandatory Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or a similar field.
• 5+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, SysOps Engineer, API Engineer, Platform Engineer, or similar role in software development and cloud operations.
• Strong experience in microservices architecture, AWS/public cloud, REST API design, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and cloud-native development.
• Hands-on experience with one or more programming languages, preferably Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with scripting languages and DevOps tooling such as GitLab, Terraform, Kubernetes, and EKS.
• Solid understanding of cloud security, resilience, reliability, and operational best practices.
• Experience with pub/sub and event-driven architecture.
• Familiarity with the use of AI in the Software Development Lifecycle.
• Ability to take ownership of complex technical topics from design to operation.
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams in an agile environment.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Customer-oriented, self-driven, highly committed, and comfortable communicating with both technical and business stakeholders.

Nice To Have

• Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant field.
• Experience with DevSecOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering patterns.
• Knowledge of monitoring, observability, performance optimization, and system reliability engineering.
• Experience with cloud cost optimization.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems and event-driven design.
• Previous experience contributing to technical strategy, engineering standards, or platform transformation initiatives.
• Interest in cloud innovation, automation, AI-enabled engineering, and continuous learning.
