COFUND QuanG in France invites applications for a PhD project focused on silicon spin qubits and hybrid spin-valley systems in semiconductor quantum dots. The PhD aims to develop spin qubits with gate-based readout and to explore multi-level quantum architectures for information processing.

The project includes a secondment at the University of Sherbrooke (Canada) and requires close collaboration using cryogenic experiments and microwave control techniques to enable coherent qubit operations.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or equivalent by deadline and must not hold a doctoral degree.
  • Must comply with MSCA mobility rule: <12 months in France in the last 36 months.
  • Background in quantum physics/condensed matter/nanoscience or quantum engineering; strong interest in experimental quantum computing.

Responsabilités

  • Develop silicon spin qubits and study spin-valley coupling in quantum dots.
  • Optimize spin readout and qubit control procedures.
  • Collaborate with Université Grenoble Alpes and University of Sherbrooke (Canada) during secondment.
  • Investigate implementation of hybrid multi-level quantum systems (qudits) using spin-valley states.
