COFUND QuanG invites applications for a First Stage Researcher (R1) PhD position in Physics. The project will use Monte Carlo simulations to study spin dynamics in quasi two-dimensional Van der Waals magnets with spintronic relevance.

The successful candidate will perform numerical and analytical investigations on spin dynamics at finite temperatures, solving spin-precession equations on finite lattices and exploring magnon dispersion near the compensation point.

Qualifications

  • Master level courses in solid-state physics and magnetism.
  • Interest or experience with numerical methods in physics.
  • Master's degree or equivalent qualification by deadline, and no prior doctoral degree.

Responsabilités

  • Theoretical understanding and modelling of spin dynamics.
  • Numerical simulations of spin systems on finite lattices.
  • Investigations of magnon dispersion near the compensation point.
