1000scholars, in collaboration with Inria Rennes, is seeking a PhD candidate to work on predictable cache management for real-time systems. The project aims to design mechanisms that turn caches into a controllable resource and to provide tight WCET bounds.

The successful candidate will analyze hardware-assisted and software-assisted approaches, implement prototypes, and evaluate predictability and performance within a team of researchers in Rennes and Lille.

Competenze

• Strong background in computer architecture and memory hierarchy.
• Experience with real-time systems and WCET analysis.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python.
• Familiarity with architectural simulators such as GEM5.

Mansioni

• Design, analyze, implement, and evaluate predictable cache management mechanisms.
• Monitor memory lifetimes and reduce WCET pessimism.
