IFP Energies nouvelles is seeking a PhD candidate in Lyon, France, focused on the modeling of gas/liquid flows in industrial bioreactors. This project involves collaboration with the Hamburg University of Technology.

The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s degree in a relevant field and possess strong skills in computational fluid dynamics. The position offers a full-time, temporary contract with a competitive salary and access to excellent research facilities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in fluid mechanics, chemical engineering, applied mathematics, or numerical simulation required.
• Knowledge of multiphase flows and strong skills in CFD essential.
• Familiarity with CFD tools, preferably Ansys Fluent, is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Characterize the hydrodynamics of gas phase in bioreactors.
• CFD simulation of gas/liquid flow using the Eulerian approach.
• Improve closure laws for the two-fluid model based on novel experiments.
