Jobtailor is seeking a Permitting Specialist to coordinate regulatory approvals for renewable energy projects in France. You will liaise with local authorities, prepare dossiers, and monitor timelines to mitigate delays, ensuring compliance with environmental and land-use requirements.

The role requires 2–5+ years in permitting or licensing and fluency in French, with strong analytical and documentation abilities. A driving license and comfort with MS Office and GIS tools are a plus.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Urban Planning, Law, or similar.
  • 2–5+ years of permitting, licensing, or regulatory experience.
  • Solid knowledge of French permitting procedures and regulatory landscape.
  • Experience with PV or renewable energy projects is a strong plus.
  • Fluency in French (mandatory) and good level of English.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of GIS tools is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Team-oriented with good interpersonal skills.
  • Driving license.

Responsabilités

  • Prepare and submit permit dossiers (urban planning, environmental, grid connection).
  • Liaise with local authorities, municipalities, grid operators, and regulators.
  • Monitor timelines and manage risks, delays, and bottlenecks.
  • Ensure documentation aligns with project specifications.
  • Support development and engineering teams with regulatory constraints and permitting requirements.
  • Track regulatory changes and assess their impact on ongoing and future projects.
  • Coordinate external consultants involved in permitting processes.
  • Maintain up-to-date permitting trackers and provide regular reporting to stakeholders.
  • Support due diligence processes and ensure documentation readiness for financing or acquisition.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and land-use regulations.
  • Participate in project planning to align permitting strategy with timelines.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate all permitting and licensing processes for renewable energy projects, ensuring compliance with French regulatory requirements;
  • Prepare, compile, and submit permit application dossiers (urban planning, environmental, grid connection, etc.);
  • Liaise with local authorities, municipalities, grid operators and regulatory entities throughout the permitting lifecycle;
  • Monitor permitting timelines and proactively manage risks, delays, and bottlenecks;
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and aligned with project technical specifications;
  • Support development and engineering teams with regulatory constraints and permitting requirements;
  • Track regulatory changes and assess their impact on ongoing and future projects;
  • Coordinate external consultants (e.g. environmental, legal, technical) involved in permitting processes;
  • Maintain up-to-date permitting trackers and provide regular reporting to internal stakeholders;
  • Support due diligence processes and ensure documentation readiness for project financing or acquisition;
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and land-use regulations;
  • Participate in project planning to align permitting strategy with overall project timelines.
Requirements
  • Degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Urban Planning, Law, or similar relevant field.
  • 2–5+ years of experience in permitting, licensing, or regulatory processes (preferably in renewable energy or infrastructure projects);
  • Solid knowledge of French permitting procedures and regulatory landscape;
  • Experience with PV or renewable energy projects is a strong plus
  • Fluency in French (mandatory) and good level of English;
  • Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of GIS tools is a plus;
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills;
