Airbus Commercial seeks a Patent Attorney (d/f/m) to join our Intellectual Property (IP) department based either in Toulouse, France or Ottobrunn, Germany. You will lead the drafting, filing, and prosecution of patent applications, manage a diverse portfolio with emphasis on avionics and AI domains, and advise on patentability to align IP assets with Airbus strategies.

• Support negotiation and drafting of IP-centric agreements.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Programs to educate on IP.

Job Description:

Airbus Commercial is looking for a Patent Attorney (d/f/m) to join our Intellectual Property (IP) department based either in Toulouse, France or Ottobrun, Germany.

You will join the team providing strategic legal and technical advice to protect Airbus innovations and to mitigate risk. You will manage a diverse patent portfolio with a particular focus on avionics and our expanding digital and artificial intelligence domains, aligning Airbus intellectual property assets with our global commercial and technical strategies.

Your challenges:

• Lead the drafting, filing, and prosecution of patent applications. Conduct inventor cross-examinations and provide expert advice on patentability.
• Under the guidance of a Senior Patent Attorney, manage a broad portfolio, ensuring geographical protection and invention prioritization match the competitive landscape.
• Prepare post-grant revocation actions and support moderate-risk IP litigation and pre-dispute work.
• Under the guidance of a Senior Patent Attorney, Support the negotiation and drafting of IP-centric agreements.
• Protect the company from infringement risks by managing IP predispute matters and claims and collaborating with legal teams on specialized contractual clauses.
• Act as a focal point for internal functions (Engineering, Procurement, Programs), providing proactive, cost-effective advice and IP education.
