Have you ever wondered how you could help provide efficient and timely legal and compliance support to the business? If so, this is your lucky day! Volvo Group Purchasing is looking for a new Paralegal (since ours has been recently promoted)!

The successful candidate will report to the Head of Legal & Compliance (L&C) Strategic Development within Volvo Group Trucks Purchasing (GTP). You will also be part of a global team located in Europe (Sweden and France), Americas (USA), and Asia Pacific (India and China). This position can be located in either Gothenburg (Sweden) or Lyon (France).

  • Timely manage GTP L&C (Group Trucks Purchasing Legal & Compliance) functional mailbox, and as a result be the first point of contact / interface for standard contractual and business requests.
  • Draft, review, and edit legal documents (e.g., contracts, agreements, business communications, etc.). Support with creation of new templates, updates, etc.
  • Explain facts, policies, and practices, and provide analytical support on standard legal and compliance matters (e.g., NDAs, completeness of requests, sharing standard documentation). Escalate issues internally as needed.
  • Handle corporate governance matters for legal entities, as directed.
  • Hold responsibility for regulatory and caselaw watch.
  • Support evaluation, implementation, and improvement of GTP L&C tools, processes, and systems. Develop and maintain files, databases, and systems to collect, store, and retrieve data as directed.
  • Initiate and coordinate the streamlining and optimization of GTP L&C department tools and processes with relevant stakeholders, ensuring proper implementation
  • Ensure access to data and knowledge through a central repository for GTP L&C internal and external benefits, including optimizing existing SharePoint sites and documentation.
  • Implement metrics, and support the GTP L&C team in monitoring KPIs, recommending improvements along the way.
  • Lead communication and education efforts (in collaboration with GTP L&C team members and other stakeholders), including communication of newsletters, new templates, processes, etc.
  • Organize and coordinate legal and compliance trainings for the benefit of GTP stakeholders.
  • Manage project activities for legal cases, litigation, transactions, and invoice reviews.
  • Work closely with our L&C transformation counsel on projects as needed and drive efficiency and business processes improvements for the L&C department and GTP.

Who are you?

A qualified lawyer with a minimum of 4 years of experience, possessing an analytical mindset and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.

A dynamic self-starter who is eager to spin multiple plates at the same time while fostering efficiency and teamwork in a fast-paced and complex environment. Able to work independently under general guidance.

A tech-savvy team player with strong computer skills, including proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and related applications as well as chatbots, gen AI.

An excellent communicator with strong English skills, both verbal and written.
