Job summary

Fortify Companies’ Insurcomm Restoration team seeks a Mitigation Technician to deliver emergency restoration services for fire, water, mold, and storm damage. You stabilize properties, prevent further damage, and communicate with clients with empathy during stressful moments.

This field-based, full-time position requires physical stamina, tool proficiency, and readiness to obtain IICRC certification. Documentation is done via PSA, Encircle, and Docusketch with a team-driven approach.

Qualifications

• Willingness to obtain IICRC certification when needed.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Strong communication, listening and interpersonal skills.
• Acceptable driving record.
• Reliable and punctual attendance.
• Ability to navigate Teams and on-site documentation via mobile apps (PSA, Encircle, Docusketch).
• Team-oriented with a positive, solution-focused attitude.
• Must wear PPE and work safely in all conditions.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency mitigation calls and assess fire, water, mold and weather-related damage.
• Perform water extraction, structural drying, and mitigation per IICRC standards.
• Remove and dispose of damaged materials safely and efficiently.
• Decontaminate, clean, and deodorize affected spaces.
• Coordinate with Contents Division to pack and store salvageable items.
• Document job progress with photos and notes using PSA and related software.
• Communicate clearly with clients with empathy and professionalism.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site at all times.
• Set up, operate, and store tools and equipment properly.
