Job summary

Harmattan AI is seeking a Software Engineer, Mission Execution, to build the software backbone that carries mission plans from the planner to the field. You will own the infrastructure that executes missions on autonomous robots and multi-agent systems, collaborating with planning, simulation, and product teams.

You will write production-grade C++ and Python for real-time, resource-constrained environments, set high quality standards, and analyze telemetry to drive systemic fixes.

Qualifications

• MS/PhD in CS, Robotics, Aerospace, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong coding in C++ and Python; fundamentals in system design, concurrency, testing, debugging.
• Experience shipping production software, distributed or real-time systems.
• Nice to have: robotics, embedded software, or defense; simulation frameworks.
• Mindset: strong communication, rigor, ownership.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the mission execution infrastructure for real-time behavior across fleets of autonomous systems.
• Develop scalable backend services and APIs for mission guidance, orchestration, and execution.
• Set and defend high quality standards: CI/CD, testing, reviews, observability, releases.
• Write production-grade C++ and Python for real-time, resource-constrained environments.
• Collaborate with Mission Planning and product teams to ensure clean integration and deployability.
• Analyze logs and telemetry to identify failure modes and drive systemic fixes.
