Carollo Engineers is an internationally recognized environmental engineering firm that specializes in the planning, design, and construction of water, wastewater, stormwater, and reuse infrastructure facilities.

We are seeking a Mid‑Level Civil/Environmental Engineer with relevant infrastructure experience. As part of our team, you will work on projects related to municipal water/wastewater treatment plants, distribution/collection systems, and pumping facilities. This includes master planning, asset management, condition assessments, infrastructure improvements, water quality studies, treatment plant rehabilitation and expansions, and critical water reuse projects.

At Carollo, you will partner with industry leaders in water research, technology, and solutions, and work alongside a dynamic, collaborative team of professionals passionate about creating sustainable and resilient water supplies.

Responsibilities
  • Perform civil engineering work in water and wastewater treatment facilities and conveyance infrastructure, focusing on site design components including site layout, yard piping, roadways, paving, grading, and stormwater infrastructure.
  • Work on engineering planning and design projects and perform conceptual and preliminary design activities including site visits, overseeing fieldwork, alternatives analysis, and report preparation.
  • Develop civil engineering plans and specifications.
  • Prepare cost estimates for various water and wastewater projects.
  • Prepare technical memoranda, reports, and electronic deliverables.
  • Assist with coordinating sub‑consultant work.
  • Coordinate the work of other engineering disciplines, designers, modelers, technicians, and others on specific assignments.
  • Review contractor submittals for conformance with contract plans and specifications and evaluate requests for information during construction.
  • Participate in field activities such as pilot testing.
  • Conduct permitting and alternative analysis.
  • Assist project managers with permitting submittals for treatment facilities and infrastructure projects, coordinating with various governmental agencies.
  • Participate in field activities and site reconnaissance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • 6 to 12 years of directly relevant experience in water and wastewater engineering for infrastructure projects.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in the state of Texas.
  • Application of engineering principles, including critical thinking, analysis, and innovative techniques.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with clients and project teams.
  • Work well in a team environment.
  • Highly motivated, articulate, and self‑starting.
  • Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (preferred).
  • Knowledge of project scheduling software.
  • Active participation in professional associations.
Pay Range

Pay is based on relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
