Alignerr is seeking a Mechanical Engineering AI Trainer to craft challenging engineering problems and author authoritative solutions that guide AI training. You will audit AI reasoning across fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and solid mechanics while ensuring safety and compliance with standards.

The role is a fully remote hourly contract with flexible hours, allowing you to work on your schedule while contributing to cutting-edge AI model evaluation and improvements.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or holding a Master’s or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field.

Responsibilities

• Design advanced engineering problems across FEA, heat transfer, kinematics, material science, and mechatronics.
• Author rigorous, step-by-step ground-truth solutions for AI training benchmarks.
• Audit AI-generated reasoning including CAD logic, thermodynamic proofs, and material specifications for accuracy and safety.
• Identify and report flaws in AI reasoning and provide structured feedback to improve model performance.

We're partnering with the world's leading AI research labs to build smarter, more technically rigorous AI models — and we need mechanical engineers to help make it happen.

As a Mechanical Engineering AI Trainer, you'll put your deep domain knowledge to work by designing complex engineering problems, authoring authoritative solutions, and auditing AI reasoning across fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, structural mechanics, and more. Your expertise becomes the benchmark that the next generation of AI learns from.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role — work on your own schedule, on your own terms.

What You'll Do

• Design Advanced Engineering Problems — Craft challenging, domain-specific problems across FEA, heat transfer, kinematics, material science, and mechatronics to stress-test AI performance
• Author Ground-Truth Solutions — Develop rigorous, step-by-step technical solutions that serve as authoritative benchmarks for AI training
• Audit AI-Generated Reasoning — Evaluate AI outputs including CAD logic, thermodynamic proofs, and material specifications for technical accuracy, safety, and compliance with engineering standards (ASME, ISO, etc.)
• Refine Model Thinking — Identify flaws in AI reasoning — such as incorrect force distributions, energy conservation violations, or unit errors — and provide structured feedback to improve model performance

Who You Are

• Pursuing or holding a Master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field
• Strong foundational expertise in one or more core areas: solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, CAD/CAM, or manufacturing processes
• Able to communicate complex physical phenomena and technical concepts clearly and precisely in writing
• Meticulous attention to detail — especially when reviewing mathematical derivations, unit conversions, and physical system constraints
• No prior AI experience required — we'll provide everything you need to get started

Nice to Have

• Experience with data annotation, technical evaluation, or quality assurance workflows
• Proficiency in engineering software such as SolidWorks, MATLAB, or ANSYS
• Familiarity with evaluating AI-generated code or simulation workflows
