Spore Bio in Paris is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Intern to join the Hardware team. You will help design, prototype, test, and refine breakthrough devices with the R&D group in a fast‑moving startup environment.

This hands‑on role involves CAD work, prototyping (3D printing, machining), hardware testing, and data analysis, while collaborating across mechanical, optical, software, and microbiology teams to advance a deeptech product.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing or recently completed a degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Comfortable using CAD tools and eager to develop mechanical design skills.
  • Interest in manufacturing and prototyping technologies (3D printing, machining, injection molding).
  • Analytical, hands‑on, and capable of learning new tools and methods.
  • Autonomous yet collaborative with good communication in English.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the mechanical design of devices, CAD modeling, and part design.
  • Build and test prototypes using 3D printing, machining, and other methods; help solve hardware issues.
  • Support integration of mechanical and optical components with hardware and R&D teams.
  • Conduct experiments and hardware tests; collect data to inform decisions.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, optical, software, and microbiology teams to validate new hardware.
  • Create technical documentation, test procedures, and design records.
