Job summary

Pelagon seeks an AI Engineer to own the foundational multimodal acoustic models at the heart of its autonomous maritime protection system. You will develop models from research to deployment across a distributed fleet of UUVs, buoys, and seabed sensors.

You'll drive data strategy, train end-to-end pipelines, and optimize models to run on edge devices in harsh sea conditions, contributing to a sovereign European deeptech effort with NATO/EU momentum.

Qualifications

• Experience designing models deployed in production, with emphasis on audio or time-series data.
• Hands-on experience bridging ML models with real hardware and sensor data.
• Ability to shape data strategy as part of model development.

Responsibilities

• Design, train and ship state-of-the-art multimodal acoustic models for underwater detection.
• Build end-to-end training pipelines including self-supervised pre-training.
• Fuse diverse sensor modalities into robust representations for low-SNR conditions.
• Distill and optimize models for edge deployment on autonomous underwater vehicles.
