Description du poste

Schaeffler is a dynamic global technology company and its success has been a result of its entrepreneurial spirit and long history of private ownership. Does that sound interesting to you? As a partner to all of the major automobile manufacturers, as well as key players in the aerospace and industrial sectors, we offer you many development opportunities.

Purpose

The Manager EHS & Maintenance ensures a safe, compliant, reliable and sustainable industrial site. The position has overall responsibility for EHS, production and facility maintenance, technical investments, and leadership of the associated teams.

Your Key Responsibilities
1. EHS, regulatory compliance and sustainability
  • Ensure compliance with French legislation, corporate requirements and applicable EHS and energy management systems.
  • Lead occupational safety, environmental protection, ergonomics, fire prevention and emergency preparedness.
  • Manage risk assessments, incident investigations, regulatory inspections, audits and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate contractor safety and compliance.
  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of ISO 50001.
  • Drive the TMS Pro ergonomics programme.
  • Develop and execute the site sustainability roadmap, including energy efficiency, emissions, waste, water and resource consumption.
  • Establish measurable objectives, reliable performance data and transparent reporting.
2. Maintenance and investment management
  • Lead all production and facility maintenance activities.
  • Ensure the availability, reliability, safety and compliance of production machinery, buildings, utilities and technical infrastructure.
  • Develop preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance processes.
  • Improve maintenance planning, equipment history, spare-parts management and CMMS/GMAO utilisation.
  • Reduce recurring failures through structured root-cause analysis and technical improvement plans.
  • Manage external maintenance providers, technical contractors and equipment suppliers.
  • Define and manage the multi-year investment roadmap for buildings and central machines.
  • Prepare investment proposals and business cases based on safety, compliance, reliability, quality, capacity, energy and business-continuity requirements.
  • Lead investment projects from specification and supplier selection through installation, commissioning and final acceptance.
  • Ensure that new and modified equipment meets requirements for safety, performance, maintainability, energy efficiency and technical documentation.
  • Manage maintenance and investment budgets.
  • Lead and develop the EHS, production maintenance and facility maintenance teams.
  • Establish clear responsibilities, priorities, performance expectations and operating routines.
  • Build the technical and leadership capabilities of the organisation.
  • Promote a strong safety culture, disciplined execution and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure effective cooperation with Production, Industrial Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Finance and HR.
  • Balance immediate operational requirements with long-term technical risks and strategic priorities.
  • Communicate risks, performance, investment needs and decision proposals clearly to plant management.
  • Ensure ownership and timely completion of agreed actions.
Your Qualifications
  • Experienced technical manager from an industrial production environment.
  • Proven leadership of maintenance, EHS or multidisciplinary technical teams.
  • Strong production-maintenance background combined with practical EHS and regulatory competence.
  • Experience in technical investment planning and project execution.
  • Ideally experienced in ISO 50001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, CMMS/GMAO, ergonomics and sustainability projects.
  • Hands‑on, structured and credible on the shopfloor.
  • Professional French and working English.
  • Implementation or management of ISO 50001.
  • Experience with ISO 14001, ISO 45001 or EMAS.
  • Experience as an Energy Coordinator or with industrial energy‑performance projects.
  • Practical experience with ergonomic‑risk‑reduction programmes, CARSAT or TMS Pro.
  • Implementation or substantial improvement of a CMMS/GMAO.
  • Knowledge of machine conformity, lockout and tagout, fire protection and regulated technical inspections.
  • Experience with reliability improvement, preventive‑maintenance optimisation or TPM.
  • Experience managing technically ageing machinery and defining replacement or retrofit strategies.
  • Experience planning and executing machinery or building investments.
  • Experience with sustainability roadmaps, carbon reduction, waste reduction, water management or environmental reporting.
  • Experience working with insurers or risk‑engineering organisations on industrial loss‑prevention programmes.
  • Knowledge of Lean, 8D, PDCA, FMEA, criticality analysis or comparable methods.
Personal profile
  • Visible, credible and engaged on the shopfloor.
  • Strong technical judgement combined with an uncompromising approach to safety and compliance.
  • Pragmatic, structured and action‑oriented.
  • Able to distinguish urgent operational issues from strategically important technical risks.
  • Capable of challenging unsafe, unreliable or economically weak solutions.
  • Strong discipline in planning, prioritisation and action closure.
  • Able to lead technical experts while maintaining clear accountability.
  • Comfortable balancing safety, compliance, machine availability, production needs, investment constraints and cost.
  • Able to communicate technical risks and investment needs clearly to management.
  • Motivated by measurable operational improvement rather than administrative compliance alone.
