A legal firm in London is looking for a Secretary to provide PA/secretarial support to their litigation team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and organisational skills, and be proficient in Microsoft Office. This full-time position offers £26,000 per annum, along with benefits such as holidays and a pension plan.

Hugh Cartwright & Amin is a commercial firm of solicitors based in Chancery Lane, the heart of London's historic legal district.

We currently have a vacancy for a legal secretary to support our team doing general PA/secretarial work and supporting the litigation partner. The ideal candidate will have good grammatical and communication skills, be eager to learn and be able to work under pressure particularly when deadlines have to be met. They should also be able to work independently or as part of a team and be prepared to cover for team members during lunch breaks, absences from work and during busy times.

Responsibilities:
  • Digital dictation
  • Organise and maintain paper files, electronic records and other documents
  • Answer and screen phone calls, taking messages and directing calls as necessary
  • Schedule appointments and meetings, coordinating with multiple parties as needed
  • Time recording (Quill)
  • Closing/opening paper and electronic files
Requirements:
  • Proven experience of all main PA/secretarial responsibilities
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good grammar and spelling capability and attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including compiling bundles of documents; bookmarking and hyperlinking; Kofax and editing PDF documents
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Professional and presentable appearance
