Aerospacelab, Inc. in Toulouse, France, is seeking a Satellite Software Architect to define and own the software architecture across satellite platforms.

You will work with Embedded Software Engineers, EE and FPGA teams, ensuring coherent interfaces, data flows, and reusable components from flight software to unit-level firmware. You will drive architectural trade-off studies, oversee design reviews, and coordinate with operators and V&V teams to align the software roadmap with mission goals.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in CS, aerospace, or electrical engineering.
• Strong embedded software experience.
• Experience designing architectures for complex embedded systems.
• Experience with RTOS (FreeRTOS) and Linux-based environments.
• Ability to lead discussions and communicate architectural decisions to multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to work across hardware/software boundary and across teams.

Responsabilités

• Define and own the end-to-end satellite software architecture across platforms.
• Establish design standards, interface conventions, and reusable building blocks.
• Collaborate with EE/FPGA teams to translate system requirements into software designs.
• Derive software requirements from mission specs and ensure traceability.
• Lead architectural trade-off studies and design reviews (PDR/CDR).
• Support satellite integration, verification, and in-orbit operations; feed back lessons learned.
