Sompo is seeking a Lead, Portfolio and Performance Analytics for the CUO Office in Continental Europe. The role reports to the CUO for Continental Europe and focuses on central portfolio monitoring and sustainable profitability across Sompo’s commercial insurance operations in the region.

Location is flexible with preferred base in Zurich and options in Paris, Milan, Cologne, or Munich; role involves collaboration across multiple locations to optimize portfolio strategies and analytics

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Data Analytics, Risk Management, or related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in commercial insurance, focusing on large corporate portfolios.
• Strong knowledge of underwriting principles, risk aggregation, catastrophe modeling, and reinsurance.
• Understanding of insurance product coverages and portfolio impact.
• Proficiency in data analytics tools and predictive modeling (Python or R).
• Experience with regulatory compliance (Solvency II, NAIC) and capital modeling.
• Proven leadership and cross-functional collaboration with executive teams.
• Innovative mindset with experience leveraging analytics for portfolio optimization.

Responsabilités

• Portfolio performance analysis and quarterly/ad-hoc reviews for leadership.
• Steer underwriting portfolio, refine risk appetite, monitor targets.
• Analyze risk accumulation and monitor exposure limits across geographies.
• Conduct catastrophe loss scenarios and support stress testing.
• Collaborate on pricing and profitability actions with pricing teams.
• Develop predictive analytics to support underwriting automation.
• Create executive dashboards and data-driven insights.
• Support reinsurance decisions and capital modeling.
• Assist regulatory filings and align portfolio with capital efficiency.
• Pilot AI models and drive digitization of portfolio management.
