Business At Work is seeking a Lead Optical Systems Engineer in Paris to own the optical discipline across products, guiding architecture, modelling, integration and test benches throughout the lifecycle. You will work with a Senior Optical Architect and cross-functional teams to ensure robust design and verification.

Requirements include a Master’s or PhD in optics or related field, strong experience in optical design and analysis, and hands-on skills with FRED, Zemax, Code V, and Python.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in optics or related field.
• Experience in design, analysis, integration and validation of complex optical systems.
• End-to-end optical system delivery including modeling, hardware, alignment and testing.
• Strong Python scripting and software tool proficiency.

Responsabilités

• Own optical architecture and trade-offs across products.
• Design optical trains with prescriptions for manufacturing and procurement.
• Build and run ray-tracing and analytical models for performance validation.
• Define optical error budgets and defend them in design reviews.
• Lead AIT, alignment procedures and test campaigns.
• Mentor engineers and formalize methods for robust documentation.
