AbbVie is seeking a Human Factors expert to lead the HF engineering strategy for drug delivery devices and medical devices. You will design interfaces, conduct usability studies, and prepare documentation for regulatory submissions in collaboration with HF, engineering, and regulatory teams.

The role emphasizes user-centered design, risk analyses, and interaction with internal and external partners to ensure usability and safety of AbbVie's products, with travel up to 20% as needed.

Qualifications

• Masters degree (+14 years) or PhD (+8 years) in Human Factors, Industrial Engineering, Human Computer Interaction, Psychology or equivalent.
• Strong working knowledge of Human Factors methods and principles.
• At least 8-10 years experience in user interface design and usability testing.
• Proven ability to innovate with a history of new or improved product releases.
• Experience in pharmaceutical or medical device product development is preferred.
• Willingness to travel, up to 20%

Responsabilités

• Determine and lead the human factors engineering strategy for product development projects.
• Design and conduct contextual inquiry research.
• Perform task and workflow analyses.
• Work with System Engineers to develop user needs requirements and user interface specifications.
• Conduct and evaluate Use-Related Risk Analyses, and recommend design mitigations.
• Design device and system user interfaces and associated instructional materials.
• Design and conduct usability tests and other usability assessments.
• Prepare and compile thorough documentation for regulatory submissions.
• Develops and achieves human factors engineering strategy in alignment with goals.
• Present concepts and results to leaders and potential partners.
• Collaborate with function peers to integrate objectives into product development.
