Exyte is seeking an EHS Lead Coordinator in Aix-en-Provence, France. In this role, you will coordinate EHS activities, supervise a team of EHS Advisors, and ensure compliance with safety regulations across all project phases. The candidate should have at least 3 years of experience in construction site safety, a degree in Environment, Health & Safety, and strong leadership capabilities. The position requires international mobility, as assignments may occur across Europe and globally.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of experience on construction sites.
• Experience managing an EHS team of at least 4–5 personnel.
• Must have Safety, Health, Environmental experience.
• Construction safety experience required.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate safety activities across project phases with an emphasis on incident prevention.
• Supervise and manage a team of EHS Advisors ensuring task allocation and performance monitoring.
• Conduct and submit site audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Review and improve site safety programs for integration into project culture.
• Prepare risk assessments and job hazard analyses for construction activities.
• Conduct or coordinate training and toolbox talks for field teams.
• Lead incident investigations and ensure reporting and closure of corrective actions.
• Foster recognition of proactive safety behaviors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The EHS Lead Coordinator works under the authority of the Project EHS Manager and collaborates with project leadership and field personnel to ensure the effective implementation of Exyte’s Incident Free Workplace Culture.

The role includes leading and coordinating a team of EHS Advisors on-site, ensuring operational excellence in safety management, and driving continuous improvement in risk prevention and safety culture.

Explore your tasks and responsibilities

• Coordinate project leadership and site personnel to ensure the implementation of safety activities across all project phases, with a strong focus on incident prevention and risk reduction
• Supervise and manage a team of EHS Advisors (typically 4–5 personnel), ensuring proper task allocation, performance monitoring and team development
• Promote, conduct and submit site audits. Audit work areas to identify hazards, ensure compliance with safety regulations and strengthen a proactive safety culture. Provide coaching where necessary
• Review and improve site safety programs to ensure safety is fully integrated into the project work culture
• Participate in and oversee the preparation of risk assessments and job hazard analyses for construction activities, ensuring all necessary preventive measures are defined
• Participate in the development of task‑related documentation and safety specifications and verify that all safety precautions are adequately addressed
• Maintain liaison with external organisations (clinics, fire departments, rescue teams, etc.) to ensure adequate emergency response and support
• Conduct or coordinate safety training and toolbox talks to communicate policies, procedures and best practices to field teams
• Lead incident investigations, communicate findings, ensure proper reporting and verify the closure of corrective actions
• Promote early reporting of incidents, injuries, near misses and good practices, and foster recognition of proactive safety behaviours
• Perform other duties as assigned

The candidate may also be required to support other projects in: Data Centers, Advanced Technology Facilities, Biolifesciences.

• Solid knowledge of construction site safety practices and risk analysis
• Working knowledge of Microsoft products (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.)
• Proficient in IT tools and digital systems, with mandatory use of a digital EHS management platform on the project
• 2-3 year degree (Associate/Bachelor level) in Environment, Health & Safety (EHS)
• Minimum 3+ years of experience on construction sites
• Experience in:
  • EHS team management (minimum team size: 4–5 people)
    • Safety, Health, Environmental experience required
    • Construction safety experience required
