Avenga is seeking a Lead Backend & Data Engineer to join an innovative AI initiative focused on a deterministic, zero-hallucination RAG platform. You will architect data pipelines with Apache Beam, build scalable backend services in FastAPI, and optimize Google Cloud Spanner performance, while integrating graph queries and Temporal workflows.

Qualifications

Experience with Python and modern backend development.
Deep expertise in Apache Beam and distributed data processing concepts.
Strong experience with distributed SQL databases like Google Cloud Spanner.
Working knowledge of graph query languages (ISO GQL, Cypher, Gremlin).
Advanced proficiency in asynchronous Python with FastAPI and Pydantic.
Experience with Temporal or Cadence for workflow orchestration.

Responsabilités

Design, build, and optimize Apache Beam data ingestion pipelines on Dataflow and Flink.
Structure and optimize multi-hop graph queries to trace data provenance.
Develop scalable backend services using FastAPI and optimize Cloud Spanner performance.
Define API contracts with Pydantic to support AI orchestration frameworks.
Architect backends that separate synchronous requests from long-running async processing.
Develop and maintain Temporal workflows and Temporal clients in Python.
Deploy and manage a scalable fleet of Temporal Workers for complex DB operations.
Implement resilient distributed workflows with retries and state management.
Collaborate with AI, Platform, and Data Engineering teams on scalable, production-ready solutions.
Contribute to architectural decisions, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
