Atlantic Food Labs GmbH in Besançon, France, is seeking a Senior Optical Characterization Engineer to lead the development of our coupling solutions characterization processes. You will own characterization setups and their automation toward mass-scale deployment.

You will be among the first hires outside the founding team, shaping how we validate performance across silicon photonics, SiN, TFLN, InP and fiber assemblies while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Engineer/Master’s degree or PhD in optics, photonics, physics or related field.
• Hands-on R&D in an optical laboratory with measurement expertise.
• Expertise in bare-die (chip-level) and wafer-level opto-electronic characterization and testing.
• Experience building automated test benches is a plus.
• Several years of hands-on integrated optics characterization and qualification work.

Responsabilités

• Perform technical characterization and analysis of 3D additive optical components interfaced with multiple photonic platforms.
• Produce detailed measurement reports and technical documentation with rigorous interpretation.
• Set up and operate lab equipment and component interfaces.
• Supervise and mentor characterization tasks for customer and internal R&D projects.
• Lead the development of automated industrial characterization procedures for mass deployment.
