ixolabs.ai is seeking a Kotlin Backend Engineer for AI training to help produce idiomatic server-side Kotlin that leverages coroutines, sealed types, and Kotlin DSLs. You will work across Ktor, Spring Boot (Kotlin), and Micronaut to push Kotlin patterns beyond Java. Start date is immediate with flexible 10–25 hours per week.

Remote work is allowed. You will review AI-generated code for idiomatic coroutine usage, validate database access (Exposed, jOOQ, JPA with Kotlin) and contribute to testing

Qualifications

• 6+ years on JVM backends, with 3+ years writing production Kotlin server code.
• Hands-on experience with Kotlin web frameworks (Ktor or Spring Boot) in production.
• Strong knowledge of coroutines, Flow, and structured concurrency in production systems.
• Experience with relational/document databases on the JVM and Gradle builds.

Responsabilités

• Generate and evaluate Kotlin backend instruction-response pairs across Ktor, Spring Boot (Kotlin), and Micronaut.
• Review AI-generated code for idiomatic Kotlin coroutine usage and concurrency.
• Provide feedback on Kotlin DSLs and type-safe builders.
• Validate DB access (Exposed, jOOQ, JPA with Kotlin) and migrations.
• Evaluate testing approaches (Kotest, MockK) and integration tests.
• Identify nullability and interop issues in JVM/Kotlin code.
